Under 18’s not allowed to use Google

How many times do children of all ages use Google at school to search out information for projects and other school related work? But there is small debate going on that has highlighted that there could be some problems with this, especially as by looking at the Google’s terms and conditions it would seem that anyone under the age of eighteen should not be using Google services at all.

This is a small piece taken from the Google site:

“You may not use … Google’s products, software, services and web sites … and may not accept the Terms if … you are not of legal age to form a binding contract with Google.”

What this looks like is that in order to be able to accept the terms and conditions in the first place a user will need be of legal age, which can be anything from sixteen to eighteen depending on the users location. But Google do tend to encourage the younger user by running competitions etc which are directed at younger people!
