Game design to be taught in schools
There is some great new for the children who go to schools in Scotland as they will be able to choose to take Game Design as a basic subject. The basics of video game design will be taught as part of Scotland’s new national curriculum, which is has been initially named the “Curriculum of Excellence” this great idea would be brilliant for the young people who are wishing seek out a career within the software programming industry.
At the moment the game design industry actually employs over five hundred people and generates over twenty million pounds in revenue each year. So if Scotland can produce the young programmers of the future this could help bolster the games economy.
This is a great idea and hopefully in the future should this prove to be a success then it could be rolled out across the whole of the UK, which would be great for all children as it would give them all a chance to see how games design works.
