Pre school policies failing

For over ten years we have listened to the government go on about education, and we have to be fair, they have been true to their word; money has been poured into education. Unfortunately for the government research done by Durham University suggests that pre school education has had little impact on the levels of achievement.

The study looked at 35,000 children and found that the childs ability to recognise shapes, count and basic vocabulary are still at the same levels as they were six years ago. Yet since 1997 the government have put over £21 billion into the pre school services, which was meant to give these children a better basic understanding, before starting school.

The main problem appears to have been that these schemes are relatively untested and the government has had a tendency to keep changing the schemes, before they really have had a chance to get going.
