Kids leaving primary school unable to read

In a new OFSTED report it has been found that there are around one in five children who are leaving primary school, who do not have a good enough grasp of how to read, write and basic arithmetic.

This report is another problem that is going to hit the government’s targets and indeed plans for education standards in the UK.

It would seem that instead of getting better the standards are slipping back, this is despite the government’s claims that standards are on the rise.

The problem that these children have is enormous, as they start the high school education, they are already behind and it would appear that this can affect them throughout the education and into working life.
