Schools teaching Second Life

A school in Middlesbrough has decided to enter the virtual 3D world of Second Life; in fact, Acklam Grange School is believed to be the first school in the world to launch a 3D virtual school within the virtual world of Second Life.

This is great idea for both the school and pupils who find themselves in a safe environment as it can be only accessed by teachers, parents and pupils, but eventually they could begin to see that the school is being visited by people from all around the world.

At the moment, the school is only accessible while the pupils are at school, but eventually the school is hoping to allow the pupils to access it from home. However, until then they will have to wait until the next ITC lesson comes around.
