Schools failing young people

Finally the education secretary Ed Balls has admitted that the state education system in England is failing young people. But he has promised to introduce a new drive which will improve standards, which is something that we keep hearing, but the results never appear to follow.

It has been ten years now and still Labour have not been able to get this one right, despite all of the education, education, education speeches that we have had to endure.

It is young people from poorer backgrounds who are missing out, those who qualify for free school meals. Maybe less time should be taken checking on how they pay for a school meal and more time taken working with these children to give them a chance!
