UK highest teenage pregnancy rate

It is a sad sign of the times that over 50,000 girls under the age of eighteen are becoming pregnant, this is the highest figure since a programme to educate teenage girls about this and how it can affect their lives, education and future.

These figures mean that the UK is at the top of the league for teenage mothers in Western Europe, even though there is also a record amount of school age abortions being carried too.

These figures come as the government introduces new policies which will allow teenage girls to obtain the morning after pill directly from chemists without their parents knowing, they do already have this service available at schools too, but could this be the source of the problem?
